Vockley Appointed To FDA Advisory Council

Pitt Pediatrics congratulates Jerry Vockley, MD, PhD, FACMG for recently being asked to join the FDA’s Genetic Metabolic Disease Advisory Committee. This panel is comprised of a small number of voting positions that approve new drug applications within this specific scientific study. The decisions made among its members are extraordinarily important and have a significant impact on the progress and direction of the field.

“It’s an honor and I’m very excited to be a part of this new effort by the FDA to move approval of drugs for rare disease forward,” Vockley says, of being brought on to the committee. “Our patients will certainly benefit from this new program.”
