Study Shows Dietary Interventions Improve Neuropathy

A recent study published in JIMD Reports shows that in the very early stages, patients with mitochondrial trifunction protein (TFP) deficiency, a LCFAOD, neuropathy might be responsive to dietary interventions.

The study of 3 adolescent sisters with TFP deficiency was reported on by a team of researchers from the University of Freiburg in Germany. While only asymptomiatic and with minor symptoms, the dietary changes led to a complete normalization of the electrophysiological findings after a year.
