Whole food plant based (WFPB) diets vs omnivore diets and FAODs, is there any data on this? Seeing as WFPB diets are anti-inflammatory and proven to reverse heart disease and type2 diabetes, might they do something for FAODs?
There have been no studies specifically on the differences between plant and animal protein in FAODs. There is some evidence in mouse models that soy protein in the diet can modulate the severity of symptoms in male mice due to phytoestrogens present in soy, but it has not been tested in humans. It certainly is an intriguing question and would be a great topic for study. Hope this helps. Dr. Vockley
