On LCHAD patients, can the breakdown of the muscle create enough serum glucose to get a false reading that blood glucose appears normal, but breakdown is actually occurring?

The simple answer is no. Glucose made by muscle and liver is being used constantly when energy is low. the level in blood typically reflects the level in tissues and so rhabdo doesn’t affect blood levels of glucose. Hope this helps. Dr. Vockely
