Kimihiko Oishi, M.D.


Dr. Kimihiko Oishi, M.D., is the Chair and Professor of the Department of Pediatrics at the Jikei University School of Medicine, Tokyo, Japan, and Vice Chair of the Japanese Society for Inherited Metabolic Diseases. Dr. Oishi was trained in Molecular Developmental Biology, Pediatrics, and Medical Genetics at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York, USA. After completing his clinical training, he joined the faculty at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai as an Attending Physician for the Program for Inherited Metabolic Diseases Clinic with a particular interest in the disease mechanism and development of new therapies for inborn errors of metabolism (IEM). After Dr. Oishi moved to Tokyo in 2021, he continued to work on clinical and basic research in IEM in Japan. Dr. Oishi received his MD from the Jikei University School of Medicine in Tokyo, Japan. He is Board Certifications in Pediatrics and Medical Genetics both in the US and Japan.
