The INFORM 2023 Scientific Committee welcomes your abstracts for display and presentation at our INFORM Meeting August 27 & 28, 2023 preceding the SSIEM in Jerusalem, Israel. Abstracts are due by April 15, 2023.

ALL abstracts submitted can be developed into a poster for display during the INFORM meeting to be considered for a poster award.  Awards will be given to the Best Overall Poster, Best Jr. Investigator Poster and two Honorable Mentions. Along with the top four posters six more investigators will be selected to present during the INFORM Lecture Series held virtually over ZOOM from January – June of 2024.

2023 Abstract & Poster Guidelines

  • Submission period for Abstracts to be considered for a travel grant is January 2023 – April 15, 2023. Abstracts submitted after April 15th and before June 27th will be printed in the program booklet and can still be part of the Poster Presentation on Sunday August 27th, 2023.  However, they will not be considered for a travel grant or speaking opportunity during the INFORM meeting, but all posters displayed at INFORM 2023 will be eligible for a poster award.

  • Abstracts must be submitted in PDF format to:  keith.mcintire@chp.edu

  • In the Subject line of your email place the words: Abstract / INFORM 2023, ( along with the actual title of your abstract )

  • Abstracts must be written in English

  • Special characters can be included during submission

  • The title should be written in standard sentence style with lower case letters (except first word, names, human gene names [always upper-case letters & italics], etc.)

  • The abstract text must not exceed 2000 characters including spaces and headings / Charts and Graphs do not count against the character count

  • Drugs must be mentioned by generic names, not trade names

  • Non-standard abbreviations must be defined in the text

  • Submitted abstracts must provide results and not announcements; stating that “Findings will be discussed…” or similar is not acceptable. Abstracts should have the following headings:

    • Background
    • Case Study / Methods (delete as appropriate)
    • Results
    • Discussion
  • Text should be Times New Roman

  • Follow standard abstract formatting: Title (written in standard sentence style), Corresponding Authors: First Name, Last name, with degree(s), Institution, City, State/Province/District, Country for each. Corresponding Author contact information: (email, & phone).

Originality/novelty (new novel techniques leading to new perspectives/understanding)

POSTER DIMENSIONS / Portrait / 84.1 cm width x 118.9 cm height

Interest to public

Format compliance

Abstract ease to read and information flow

Poster overall design (enough background, flow, data presentation, amount of data, size of graphs,

font size, enough references, printing quality, Institution logo, etc.)

Hypothesis soundness

Using graphical representations effectively for data set (type of graphs)

Data quality: images’ clarity, gel quality, statistical significance, etc.

Data graphs’ design and ease to read

Basic science impact

Clinical impact

Data backing conclusions

Bonus points:

Innovation (innovations that are patentable)

Four Poster presentations will be selected for cash awards and recognition at INFORM and will be invited to present their research during
the INFORM 2024 Online Lecture Series.

Up to six other Posters will be selected to be presented during the Lecture Series as well.

Posters MUST be hand delivered to the hosting venue upon arrival.
or before the start of the INFORM meeting on August 27th, 2023.

All Abstracts submitted to INFORM 2023 can be presented as posters during our meeting, August 27 & 28, 2023.

Junior Investigators will receive first consideration for awards.
